'Artsana'- New Art Exhibit Opening

NEW EXHIBIT NEW EXHIBIT NEW EXHIBIT NEW EXHIBIT

Discover: 'Artsana' - by Miriam Castillo

Is an ongoing series of illustrations inspired by yogic practices. Merging Nature, art and yoga, Miriam aims to inspire and provoke curiosity in people who haven’t had any contact with this amazing ancient science and system of mental and physical training. She offers a visual storytelling of her own process.

Derived from Sanskrit, the original classical Indian language, most asanas (postures) are linked to animals. The names of each posture are a visual description of what happens to the body and the inspiration behind them.

The illustrations are interpretations of these names. In addition, the floral elements represent the force or energy of Nature that governs the knowledge of all things. We are not “made” by Nature but we grow from it. All living organisms are connected to the universe and bloom within Nature.

The benefit of approaching yoga through art is that it reaches all those with relationships to yoga as well as those to art. Uniquely, through this discipline, one can approach deeper levels of creation and consciousness, as art in itself is a kind of meditation.

Proceeds of this exhibit on display until January will be supporting people effected by recent earthquakes in Mexico!
